Spanning Kenya’s most diverse ecosystems, this trip is tailored to offer rare photographic opportunities in iconic and off-the-beaten-path locations.

Day 1:

Arrival in Nairobi

Land in Kenya’s capital and transfer to your hotel. Rest up before beginning your immersive photo safari.

Overnight: Nairobi

Day 2:

Into the North – Samburu National Reserve

Journey north to Samburu, a stark and beautiful region offering some of the best light and rarest wildlife in Kenya.

Highlights: Giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches, oryx, leopards

Day 3:

Samburu – Rare Species in Harsh Light

Photograph unique northern species against dramatic backdrops. Dry riverbeds and palm groves offer contrast and depth. Patience pays off with big cat sightings and elephant herds.

Day 4:

Samburu – Golden Hour Storytelling

Your morning and evening drives are timed for optimal light. Focus on movement, interaction, and storytelling with animals in their natural environment.

Day 5:

Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Head to Ol Pejeta, a private reserve that allows for close encounters with endangered species. Your guide will help you position yourself for intimate wildlife portraits.

Day 6:

Conservation & Composition in Ol Pejeta

Photograph rhinos and learn how to frame images with meaning. The changing terrain and low visitor numbers allow for uninterrupted shooting.

Day 7:

Return to Nairobi – Reset & Recharge

Drive back to Nairobi for a day of rest, and a short urban photography walk for those who want to explore street scenes.

Day 8:

 Drive to Amboseli – Skies and Shadows

Arrive in Amboseli National Park, famed for its dramatic skies, enormous elephants, and photogenic vistas.

Highlights: Massive elephant herds, zebras, giraffes, Kilimanjaro

Day 9:

Amboseli – Elephants in Motion

With a full day in the field, focus on capturing elephants walking through dust, backlit herds, and layers of landscape with mountain views.

Day 10:

Amboseli – Creative Wildlife Framing

Experiment with silhouettes, reflections, and symmetry. Your guide photographer will suggest ideal angles and wait times for perfect shots.

Day 11:

Lake Nakuru – Shifting Ecosystems

Head to Lake Nakuru, a lush contrast to Amboseli’s open plains. Afternoon drive to scout lake shots and watch rhinos graze.

Highlights: Flamingos, pelicans, white rhinos, leopards, bush scenes

Overnight: Lake Nakuru

Day 12:

Lake Nakuru – Dawn to Dusk Shooting

Photograph at sunrise from elevated viewpoints, then explore the park’s varied microclimates. Birds in flight and buffalo herds offer great compositional practice.

Day 13:

Masai Mara – The Crown Jewel

Drive to Masai Mara, arriving in time for a scenic late-day shoot. The lighting and terrain create extraordinary depth in your photos.

Day 14:

 Masai Mara – Big Cats & Iconic Scenes

Spend the entire day tracking big cats, wildebeest, and elephant herds. Flexible routing allows you to stay with a subject longer and chase the best light.

Highlights: Lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, dramatic landscapes

Overnight: Masai Mara

Day 15:

Final Sunrise & Return to Nairobi

End your trip with a sunrise shoot before returning to Nairobi. Transfer to the airport or hotel for your onward journey.
